1 | Indigenous Internship Experience

Hungerford is committed to working with Indigenous communities to provide meaningful learning and development opportunities, enhance employment options, and help to grow the next generation of Indigenous leaders.

We are pleased to offer two distinct programs.

Indigenous Internship Program

The Indigenous Internship Program is offered to all Indigenous (First Nations, Inuit, Metis) people of Canada. Internship length and content will be customized depending on applicant experience (post-secondary students, graduate students, or mature professionals).

The program provides opportunities for interns to learn, grown, and network as they participate in our cross-departmental activities and within the larger real estate community and aims to encourage Indigenous participants to consider the BC Real Estate Development industry as a place to pursue a rewarding career.

Interns will be provided opportunities to contribute and build relationships within the organization, between Indigenous communities and organizations, and within the Real Estate and Development Industry.

Indigenous Youth Program (for High School Students)

The Indigenous Youth Program is offered to all Indigenous (First Nations, Inuit, Metis) people of Canada currently attending high school in grades 10-12, or who have recently graduated.

The program provides an opportunity for youth to participate in a work experience program during a school break. Hungerford collaborates with the students and their relatives to develop a customized experience program, based on each student’s unique interests, skills, and career aspirations.

Students will receive an introduction to the business and services, participate in activities with an external partner (such as an environmental learning experience), and visit Indigenous heritage and cultural sites.
